Well today at Fun in the Sun, it was Mud day. Which turned out phenomenal. With lots of dirty people. Tomorrow in the last day, and also food day. Again check back for more photos later.

Well, today was the second day of Fun in the Sun. It was relay day. We did lots of relays, and other games. Started out inside, then moved out. We got a whole bunch of people in the lake today. Mud Day looks great for tomorrow. Check back for more pictures.

Rube Goldburg 2007
To Take A Picture

We made a large Rube Goldburg Maching at Upland Community Church. A Rube Goldberg machine is an exceedingly complex devices that perform simple tasks in very indirect and convoluted ways. Our task was to take a picture

Summery:

We created a Rube Goldberg Machine February 9 & 10, 2007 at The task that was intended for this machine to complete was to take a digital picture. It was started by allowing a fake hand (made of play-dough) that knocks over a chain of dominoes. These dominoes set off a mouse trap which makes pulls a remote controlled car remote. The remote control car pulls sand out of a bucket on a teeter-totter. This allows a bowling to swing and knock a second bowling ball down a ramp, this bowling ball pulls a plug out of a bit of cardboard tube. A bouncy ball falls into a series of half tubes; we liked to call them Zig-Zags. This bouncy ball sets off a second mouse trap that drops a hammer onto a dowel rod, taking the picture.

As you can tell from the video, the best run we were able to make we had to touch one. We ended up working one it for 36 hours straight. I think our insanity is best summed up when Sarah said "My parents are coming at 10, so you better have you pants on then." (Just as a disclaimer the person was indeed wearing shorts.) We gave up after our 50th run at 11:30 on February 10. This is what we got...
